| so when i first got the car, the fan would only work on the 4th setting but the heat and cool worked fine. today the temp control knob stuck in the cool position and will not move. anyone have this happen before? is it something i can fix or should i just replace the controls |

this is kinda hard to explain, but the controls are essentially a series of cables. There are also some clips that hold the cable sheath stationary so that when you move the dial the cable is free to move within that sheath. If the clips come off or break then the entire cable/sheath combo tries to move and the entire thing just doesn't work. Try pulling it out to have a look for yourself, might make some more sense.
I've also seen a couple where the plastic gear teeth behind the dials just break off.
Pull the whole thing out and inspect it, it's easy to find another at PnP if necessary.
