just picked this car up yesterday and aready its under the knife. lol
83 cabby jh motor with a 1.6 turbo setup. 2.5 downpipe with 2.5 all the way back.
tonight we got the cooling system back in. filled and tested for leaks. tightened up some of the front suspension as it was all loose. put on the 15" rims we had lying around for looks. blocked off some of the vaccum lines that were left open and finished up some of the wiring. have a plan sorted for the boost tubing and mocked up the intercooler. lots more work to be done but for a nights work, i think its coming along.

yup. my buddy own's the shop. its called winks auto and customs. hes big into diesel performance but loves the vw's. anything you want im sure he can do it.

rob hooked me up with the 1.9TD thats in my car now. I was that thing there yesterday....... threw up a little in my mouth when I saw the color though. Mines the blue jetta there outside his shop.

well got the piping in from the turbo to the intake and from the air box to the turbo. had to mess around with the air/fuel mix a little but it runs alright. took it out for a little rip and holy $&%^ is this thing quick. the boost kicks in around 2800 and it just asks for more throttle.
still need to set the timing, so im wondering if anyone would know what i should set it at?

factory is 6 degree's btdc, you'll get a bit more out of it set around 8 degree's btdc

also need to upgrade my breaks. i dont think the new pads that are on there will last long. anyone know if i can fit passat mk2 calipers on a mk1. could i do so with swapping the spindles. and the same for the rear?
